S5e64 - Ali Daniali - Growing AgTech by Supporting Small Farming

While I enjoy this entire podcast, this particular episode stands out as my favorite so far. The conversation was not only engaging and interesting, but I learned many new things and imagine the content will be very actionable for many people. I especially resonate with the focus on small farming, as it is usually topics surrounding the large venture-funded farms that capture most of the content I see / hear. Well done Harry and Ali.

It’s got all the goods

I found this podcast after I had taken a job as the hydroponic research lab manager at a high school. Our school at recently purchased a container farm to serve as a learning laboratory for students. Even though I have about a decade of traditional agriculture research I didn’t know much about the vertical farming space. Harry has been an excellent companion to having learning all there is to know about this industry. I have already used a lot of the information I gained from listening into my upcoming research class on CEA. The conversations are informative and thought provoking, which is extremely beneficial for a life long learner tackling a new subject. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone wanting to learn about vertical farming and the aspects of the industry. Just when you think you have a grasp on what is happening in the industry BOOM a new guest blows you away with what is happening now and what the future holds. Great podcast, I look forward to each episode and pass them along to my students. Thanks for all the hard work you and your team are doing. I highly recommend this podcast

Living in a country where vertical farming is still in its infancy, I have to say that I have been motivated and spired by most of the interviews that I hear week after week. One thing that clearly stands out is Harry´s ability to bring together experts and leaders from different parts of the world but all with a passion for vertical farming

I am a female founder in NC seeking to begin a full-cycle vertical herbal farm to create a unique herb tea loose-leaf wholesale supply chain. The interview w/Allison of Artemis was exactly what I needed.

I began listening to VPF at the start of April 2022 and have been listening to a few episodes/ week ever since. I really enjoy the wide-variety of guest Harry brings on; from well-established players to burgeoning start-ups, its always great to get insights into an industry which can sometimes feel pretty siloed. I also particularly enjoy the episode recaps and "tweetable quotes" for each episodes, they make it much easier to share interviews with my friends and coworkers.

Love the show!!

I’m new to this space and as I was doing the research, I’ve simply typed in “vertical farming” just to catch some episodes with the topic. It was a surprise to me there was a whole show dedicated to the topic and its been going on for several seasons now. It’s really informative to hear from different people in different companies, business models and functions, helping me acquire a holistic lense to the industry. I love hearing from different leaders and can truly feel their passion for the job. The podcast has helped me immensely to get an understanding of the industry and the challenges they face.

Fantastic podcast

I’ve really enjoyed these informative but accessible conversations with leaders in the sector. The host seems to have a knack for drawing out lots of interesting information in a very conversational and easy to follow way. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in vertical farming.

Empowered me to launch my own……

Harry has done an amazing job at getting so many variant of guests from different aspects of vertical farming. Since listening to this back in March and leaving my job. I’m in the process of launching my own urban farm in the UK using hydroponics. This show has inspired me and empowered me to take action. Keep up the great work Harry.

Informative sessions to gain holistic understanding of the field

Every new topic I get interested in, I end up looking for a podcast on it. Entered the keywords "vertical farming" on Apple Podcast and this one showed up first... The album art was attractive so I opened the channel and read the description... gave the first 3 episodes a listen and quite liked the conversations Harry was having with his guests. I am looking to invest in this industry and I believe this podcast might be the right platform to seek holistic understanding of the industry of Vertical Farming.

Interesting guests and their fascinating stories.

This podcast has really helped me satiate my curiosity in vertical farming. Harry does a great job at bringing interesting guests from different areas of vertical farming and asking them the right questions to tell a great story. Went on a binge and listened to multiple episodes in a single sitting. Really helpful as a resource. Would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about vertical farming.

Diverse and inspiring

We have a vertical farming operation in Spain and it has been extremely interesting to learn about what is going on in the US with such a diverse set of interviewees. I really like how you also ask some personal questions to put them into context and try to get to the specifics of each business. Please keep them coming!

Great resource for learning more about vertical farming!

I’ve listened to about 4 of these podcasts so far and I’ve really enjoyed all of them. The speakers feel genuine and their stories are fascinating. I’m using this podcast to “learn the language” of vertical farming so I can (hopefully) transition into the space in the near future. Keep these podcasts coming!
